Our team built a hackathon app for farmers to check local weather and crop-price predictions, manage orders, and keep track of inventory.

We won second prize at Version Beta 4.0.

Bringing the pieces together

The project combined weather forecasts, suggestions based on location and weather, and crop-price predictions based on historical data.

React handled the interface, with Node.js, Express, and Flask on the backend and MongoDB for storage. Forecasts and predictions sat alongside the practical work of managing orders.

The data was a hurdle

We struggled to find enough data to train the crop-price models.

We also ran into problems getting the app online.
