Learning Flutter with a simple calculator

This was part of IITISOC, IITI Summer of Code. We picked an area and volume calculator as our project.

I wanted to try building cross-platform apps.

Giving Flutter a go

I chose Flutter because I wanted to learn how to build apps for more than one platform. This was my first Flutter app, with mentorship through IITISOC.

A simple project

You pick a shape, enter its dimensions, and calculate the area or volume. Some shapes have a few ways to calculate the answer, depending on the measurements you have.

There wasn’t anything particularly complex about it. I got experience with Flutter by building an app. That was what I wanted from this project.
